Project Runway Winner Irina Shabayeva to Debut Fall 2010 Collection

The season six winner of Project Runway, Irina Shabayeva will debut her Fall 2010 collection on Saturday, February 13th during New York’s world-renowned Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Shabayeva’s Fall collection, which is inspired by flight, is a delicate balance between the ethereal and the industrial while incorporating materials from Tupperware, yup, the stuff you store leftovers in. Shabayeva’s collection will include looks that manipulate plastic into modern day ready to wear. She will showcase five pieces using Tupperware materials, in addition to many accessories on the runway.

“This collection is about the fantasy of flight and liberation,” said Shabayeva. “It’s about finding what liberates you.”

We all remember Irina as being a tad bitchy, but definitely a talented go-getter. If you watch Project Runway you know that Irina isn’t new to experimenting with alternative materials. As a part of one of her challenges, Shabayeva created a couture dress entirely out of newspaper.

We can picture Lady Gaga being all over this stuff, and we can’t wait to see what these pieces look like.
