The Felder Women

WHO? Identical twins – Annette and Daniela Felder.

FROM? The designer duo originally hails from Germany, but after extensive travelling around Europe, India and America, eventually settled in London, enrolling at Central Saint Martins. It was whilst studying that they launched their own label in 2006, which went from strength to strength, garnering mass interest from A-listers and major fashion publications alike. After securing sponsorship in the form of the New Gen/Topshop scheme, which provides support for up and coming designers, Felder Felder went on to design an in-store installation for Selfridges, and have their rock ‘n’ roll inspired designs stocked by Browns Focus in London.

WHAT? The girls have become renowned for their grunge aesthetic, which plays with layering, embellishment and texture, creating edgy designs with feminine elements. With their ever-present mini dresses and leather jackets often featuring a wide range of heavy metal adornments, ranging from hanging chains to studs and rivets, their designs are not for the faint-hearted. As well as designing for the catwalk, the Felder twins were also invited to create the new uniforms for uber luxurious restaurant Nobu on Berkley Street in London. With stars like Rihanna and Florence Welch wearing their creations, Felder Felder’s future is set to be very bright indeed.

WHERE? As well as having their own online store, you can buy into Felder Felder’s glamorous, grunge vibe by visiting Liberty in London, Debut in New York or Cecylia in Melbourne, Australia.
