Tammy Pushér is the President and Creative Director of the classical Hollywood inspired line, Rosa Pushér, appropriately named after her fashionable mother. Tammy started Rosa Pushér in February of last year to fulfill her childhood dream of creating gorgeous clothes that would  emulate her mother’s timeless style. This line’s  glamorous, classic and figure-flattering designs is what landed Rosa Pushér on our radar. We got the chance to catch up with Tammy, who gives us some great industry tips and talks about her latest collection.

TRÈS DOPE: Tell us the inspiration behind your latest collection.
TAMMY PUSHÉR: Our collection is very classic Hollywood inspired. We’ve decided to pay Homage to Grace Kelly for our SS 2011 Collection. We have very graceful and elegant pieces in our latest collection.

TRÈS DOPE: How did you know fashion design was your calling?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: I’ve always had a great eye for fashion ever since I was a little girl. I use to walk around in my Mom’s high heels, big hats and pearl necklaces so it started when I was really young.

TRÈS DOPE: : What’s it like starting your own line? Any struggles?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: It’s very tough in the beginning. Of course nothing is easy at first, however you have to keep at it and it will pick up. We’ve recently gotten connected with a few Heavy weights in the Fashion Industry in which is also very helpful.

TRÈS DOPE: Who are some designers that influence you?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: I am influenced by Carolina Herrera, Donna Karen, Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Jeanne Lanvin, Garavani Valentino, Christian Louboutin, and Rachel Roy being such a young and talented fashion designer.

TRÈS DOPE: What type of woman wears your line?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: I design for women of all ages who are strong and elegant. We design for the everyday strong woman who sets a great example in life. The Wealthy Socialite, celebrities and very successful women who knows that they get what they pay for.

TRÈS DOPE: What celebrity would you like to see wearing one of your designs?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: I would love to dress the First Lady, Michelle Obama, even though she isn’t really a celebrity. I am currently dressing Devorah Rose a Socialite from New York, I’ve already dressed Countess Luann from The Housewives of New York. I just want to dress Elegant and beautiful women who are strong leaders.

TRÈS DOPE: If you could give aspiring designers an insider tip, what would it be?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: They have to have a passion for what they are doing. If I didn’t have a passion for what I’m doing, I would’ve given up a very long time ago. Stay true to your vision and keep at what you’re doing. Also be very careful about who they allow to hire as PR or anything of that nature. This Industry is very catty and you can’t always tell if the individuals are genuine or not.

TRÈS DOPE: What’s next for Rosa Pusher?
TAMMY PUSHÉR: We are currently working on our Rita Hayworth inspired collection and God willing that we are able to debut our Fall 2011 collection during NYFW. We are working on a few things with some heavy hitters in the industry right now; it looks like 2011 is going to be our year.
