Not all smiles anymore!

Wow! After a slew of complaints Dior released a statement this morning announcing they have officially cut ties with John Galliano.

Racked got a hold of said statement:

Paris – March 1, 2011 Following the allegations of anti-Semitic statements that resulted in John Galliano being questioned by police on Thursday, February 24, Christian Dior immediately suspended its relationship with its designer, pending the outcome of the police investigation.
Today, in light of the deeply offensive statements and conduct by John Galliano in a video made public yesterday, Christian Dior has commenced termination proceedings against him.
Sidney Toledano, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture, said: “I unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior”.

Sh*t really hit the fan yesterday after a video of Galliano praising Hitler and saying some other horrible discriminatory comments. Then… Dior ambassador, Natalie Portman released a statement condemning the designer as well.

Natalie’s still a Dior employee, Galliano is out! Nat:1-Galliano:0

From a fashion-related perspective, we’ve been so used to gawking over Galliano’s work with Dior, anticipating each season but in no shape or form does that undermine what he said.

Feels like another tragic death in fashion.
