On Trend: Doily Duds

Reminiscent of grandma's pad, doily-inspired lace pieces had a moment on the SS 2012 runways of Erdem, Preen, Oscar De La Renta as well as Louis Vuitton. The cool thing about this whole look is that's a bit more daytime-appropriate than your standard lace but can be easily dressed up for a classier night out. Charlotte Ronson added a masculine flair by pairing her dainty dress with a cool military-nautical inspired jacket while Jessica Chastain took a more simple approach by adding a pair of nude heels to her teal frock. Try this at home with sandals or Isabel Marant Dicker-esque suede ankle booties for a chill summer look or go with some heels and a cute clutch for that summertime bridal shower or graduation you have to go to.
