Trending: Exaggerated Hips

So remember the days when designers were inspired by rail-thin models and offered up looks that only a toothpick could reasonably pull off? Good news for the majority of the population-you no longer have to try and squeeze into pieces that were never meant to fit women beyond a size two. Instead, designers seem to be taking some steps toward helping out the rest of us who want to wear fashion-forward duds but can't seem to put down the cupcakes. For Fall-Winter 2012, we saw a decidedly large number of designers take a bigger is better approach to fashion-particularly in the below-the-belt region. Gone are the days of the basic peplum designs that we have been seeing and in came a wave of pieces with emphasized hips so big you could fit a small puppy inside. From Carven to Lanvin, we saw gorgeous numbers with nipped in waists and overly exaggerated behinds. Another crowd pleaser was Burberry Prorsum's take on the style, with sweet details that attracted even the most conservative fashionistas.

Tell us what you think... Does bigger necessarily mean better? Will you be sporting this trend this season?
