Have You Seen This Clip of Karl Lagerfeld Interviewing Himself Yet?

Karl squared.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen K-Lag half-laugh and smile. Isn’t he so cute?

Here are our favorite quotes from the video:

“You know if you ask me how to be chic there’s little hope to become chic.”

“There are peasants who are beyond chic in poor rags & very rich women who are not chic in the most expensive dress.”

“I never talk about the good old days but I’m not sure they were that good…just old.”

“You know if you ask me how to be chic there’s little hope to become chic.”

Enjoy…

Sooo Raf Simons Might Be Replacing Galliano at Dior

???

Dior is reportedly closing in on a deal with Raf Simons to replace John Galliano.

The Jill Sanders designer proves he can turn a label around but we’re wondering if this is just another a rumor considering his minimalistic approach to design is the complete opposite of Galliano’s.

Who knows though? Maybe keeping things simple is exactly what Dior needs right now? We’ll update you once we hear more.

David Bowie, is that you on the cover of Vogue? No, it’s Kate Moss.

As if we needed another reason to put an extra notch in Kate‘s level of cool? The super-mega-IDK-how-she-still-does-it model channels the legendary David Bowie on the latest cover of Vogue Paris. This shit is definitely going to be a collector issue and would actually make a pretty cool x-mas gift.

Lagerfeld Photographed Florence Welch for “Shake it Out” Single

Stuh-ning

I mean, who isn’t obsessed with Florence Welch? The cold, cold fashion world is no exception. First, Frida Giannini of Gucci named Florence as her muse, then Flo’ performed at Chanel‘s last show and now Karl Lagerfeld is returning the favor by snapping photos for Florence + the Machine‘s new single Shake it Out. Lagerfeld to Launch Two Lower-Priced Collections

I'm busy.

According to WWD, K-Lag has plans to launch two collections next year that will be sold at a lower-price point. One, called “Karl” will be priced from 60 to 300 euros while the other, “Karl Lagerfeld Paris” will retail from 300 to 2,500 euros.

Karl says:

“I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that … It was only when Apax sold Hilfiger that they started to look at Lagerfeld with other eyes and started to invest, etc. Now I am feeling we are ready for the right job — the way to do things right in a modern, unusual way.”

The “Karl” collection will be sold exclusively on Net-a-Porter  while the higher-end “Karl Lagerfeld Paris” line will be sold at new Karl Lagerfeld boutiques opening in 2012.

Kanye West Reacts to Fashion Critics in an Angry Rant #typicalkanye #PFW

Kanye West SS12

Well, as we all know, Kanye West made his debut as a womenswear designer a couple of days ago during Paris Fashion Week. Fashion critics and enthusiasts worldwide took to Twitter and their blogs to talk about Kanye’s lackluster collection.

The most obvious issue was the lack of proper fitting and Cathy Horyn of The New York Times tweeted: “Next season Kanye should get a tailor so clothes might fit. Models swimming in some looks. Kills the hot look, no?” WWD labeled the show as being “neither a triumph nor trainwreck.”

The funniest response came from our Twitter follower @AShinyOConnor who said the collection was “like an Herve Leger that gave up.”

You can imagine Kanye being pretty upset about the reaction to his line and it was only a matter of time before he responded to the haters:

“Thank you for anybody that didn’t believe, because they motivated us to break our boundaries … we don’t know what the reviews will be, we don’t know what they will say, but I got a chance to go to Italy and feel those fabrics.

I begged Louis Vuitton to let me do more shoes after my shoes sold out in two weeks, and they did not. I begged Nike, I begged this company to let me do it. And I took out motherfucking loans to get the best models, to get the best designers, to get the best venue.

I gave you everything that I had. This is my first collection. Please be easy. Please give me a chance to grow. This is not some celebrity shit. I don’t fuck with celebrities. I fuck with the creatives in this room, the amazing people who spend every day of their life trying to make the world a more beautiful place.”

Ahhh, hilarious! Kanye, we have faith in you, send us an invite next time yeah?
