Alber Elbaz: ‘I don’t take drugs because if I did I’d love them’

I’m a funny guy no?

“You start to understand why some designers do strange things, why some designers talk to themselves, you have to find a way of dealing with it all. I don’t take drugs because if I did I’d love them — I’d be a junkie. And because I’m Jewish, I’d probably be a dealer too.”

Quote Du Jour: Alber Elbaz Doesn’t Do “Internets” and Email

What Internets?

“I see Internets every morning — I don’t have an e-mail address and, you know, I don’t do Internet, but every morning my boyfriend, Alex, makes me coffee and we watch these images. And more and more I see these stylish women wearing all these evening dresses for day, and I thought, how beautiful. So it’s not just about the nice gray sweater and the nice, I don’t know, that nice straight skirt, but it’s becoming a little bit more elaborated during the day.”

Première Look: The first Photo of Lanvin for H&M Released!

Be still my heart.

Vogue.com had the exclusive first photo of Lanvin’s collection for H&M this morning and we of course had to share.

Even though we won’t get to see the rest of the looks until November 2nd, this should satisfy our thirst in the mean time. With the release of this single image we know the clothes are totally worth going cray over.

Dress on the left,  I totally recognize you from Pre-Fall ’09 Lanvin and the one on the right from Spring ’09.

Leave it to Alber Elbaz to channel his earlier high-end designs into his hybrid collection for H&M. Gorgeous!

You’re Killing Me Alber! Another Lanvin for H&M Teaser Video

This teaser video staring Natasha Poly is another method Alber Elbaz of Lanvin is using to tease the shit out of me.

All day yesterday I kept hoping the pictures of this H&M collabo’ would leak and after plenty o’ searches no pictures were to be found but I came across this video and of course the pieces the models are wearing are blurred out.

Rumor says we can expect chiffon and some logo shirts for sure.

A video showcasing the collection will debut the 2nd of November but won’t be in stores till the 20th. At least it will give us some time so save up some money or make a hefty credit card payment so we can go cray right?

UGH the anticipation is seriously killing me!

We Knew it was Alber! H&M and Lanvin Confirmed! In Stores November 23!

Alber Elbaz: Lanvin's Designer

Alber Elbaz uttered the words we all waited to hear this week in a press release that surfaced yesterday: “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”

AEFIJIWWF. AWEIFJOWEIF!!!! The video we posted earlier had the whole fashion media world confused about who the man behind the silhouette was but the second we heard his voice we knew it was Alber!

“It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men”, said H&M creative director, Margareta van den Bosch.

Sounds effing dope. We will get a peek at the collection on November 2nd. Ah!

Please Be True: Lanvin is H&M’s Next Designer Collaboration; Carolina Hererra and Bottega Veneta to Follow?

Alber Elbaz, Lavin's Genius Designer

Exact details haven’t been released yet but H&M is hooking up with what appears to be Lanvin, Carolina Hererra and Bottega Veneta. All we know is the Swedish retailers have released a slew of videos featuring silhouettes of people who resemble fashion designers paired with voice overs. We shall find out on the 9th of this month! P.S. The man’s voice is indeed that of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, just listen to it! I’m having heart palpitations. Great.

Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Donatella Versace, John Galliano, Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, Sonia and Nathalie Rykiel all got the Disney treatment in the latest issue of Spanish Elle. Aren’t these illustrations absolutely adorable? Especially the one of Marc Jacobs! He looks so neurotically stressed out and cute!
