Balmain reportedly ended it’s five-year collaboration with Christophe Decarnin, the designer who reinvigorated the label and simultaneously made shoulder pads cool again.

We knew something was off when Decarnin missed his bow at the Balmain show this past Paris Fashion Week.  When that happend Balmain’s owner Alain Hivelin said, “No, he’s NOT retired. He’s just tired. He didn’t go to bed until 5 a.m. He’s not here, he’s resting.”

Rumor is Decarnin was/is actually “resting” in a mental hospital so that would probably best explain this fashion break-up.

So should we start placing bets on who’s gonna take his place or is it too soon? This is like way too stressful… we haven’t even gotten over Galliano yet.
