Dior is reportedly closing in on a deal with Raf Simons to replace John Galliano.
The Jill Sanders designer proves he can turn a label around but we’re wondering if this is just another a rumor considering his minimalistic approach to design is the complete opposite of Galliano’s.
Who knows though? Maybe keeping things simple is exactly what Dior needs right now? We’ll update you once we hear more.
Alright reports all over the damn internet are saying that Marc Jacobs will totally be replacing John Galliano at Dior.
Marc’s contract at Louis Vuitton is almost coming to an end and now LVMH is trying to convince him to take on Dior before they renew him for another stretch at LV.
If he accepts, Jacobs will head over to Dior with his business partner Robert Duffy and in turn the incredible Pheobe Philo of Céline will take his place at Louis Vuitton.
Who saw this one coming?
Bill Gaytten stepped in as Creative Director of the Fall-Winter 2011-12 Dior Couture collection making it the first sans John Galliano and of course, John’s presence was missed. Lebanese designer Elie Saab unveils another couture collection for the fashion-obssessed to fawn over. For his latest collection Saab created more figure-flattering, embellished gowns which absolutely solidify his title as Hollywood’s dress king. While some take jabs at him because he’s super consistent, we think he knows what he’s doing. Saab is almost too talented at what he does, so why would he need to take risks? We like the classic shape he utilizes and in all honesty it’s nice that he doesn’t have to put a multicolored bubble dress on a model wearing flatforms to get buzz. SEE ENTIRE COLLECTION
If we were inside Karl Lagerfeld‘s head, we’d presume he was inspired by a ton of old Film Noir movies for this Fall-Winter 2011-12 Chanel couture collection. The Coco-inspired tweed suits were a staple in this collection per usual but some were executed differently with a bell silhouette and show-stoppers included the magenta pieces and sheer floor-length gowns. Jezebel posted a chilling interview of Christian Dior’s niece, Francoise Dior and her fiance Colin Jordan in their London home. In it we get a look into their living space which boasts a ton of Hitler and Nazi trinkets. She also goes on to talk about the Nazi wedding ceremony they planed to have which would include a bizarre ritual of cutting their fingers and mixing their blood over a copy of Mein Kampf. Um, crazy much?
It’s not exactly certain how close Christian Dior was to his insane niece but nonetheless this newly-found clip doesn’t put the label under a better light. Check out the video on Jezebel.

I get it, I totally get it, when your in this business you got to brand whatever you can but really you people at Christian Dior, why?
I do love you, I really do, I guess it may be because I am from LA that these really take me back to a time I want to forget which is junior high when everyone and their mothers went to Chinatown as well as Downtown to get cheap contacts that had the words “sample” printed on them instead of CD.
