“I’m not sure — it’s an amazing job, I don’t know if he would be the right person for it. John Galliano is difficult to replace. I think it’s important not to jump into things. It needs to be a logical continuation of the brand. But who am I to say anything? I guess we all just have to wait and see.”

Sooo Raf Simons Might Be Replacing Galliano at Dior

???
Dior is reportedly closing in on a deal with Raf Simons to replace John Galliano.
The Jill Sanders designer proves he can turn a label around but we’re wondering if this is just another a rumor considering his minimalistic approach to design is the complete opposite of Galliano’s.
Who knows though? Maybe keeping things simple is exactly what Dior needs right now? We’ll update you once we hear more.

John Galliano‘s former assistant Antonio Berardi reveals:
“John would come out at the end of the catwalk show and people would think how confident he was. I think it was that part of his persona that kicked in for two minutes. Then he’d go back to being incredibly shy. Most of us [designers] are fragile creatures – even if we look theatrical and put on shows.”
Carine Roitfeld is everywhere these days and now she’s on the latest cover of i-D Magazine shot by Terry Richardson. Seems like she’s busier than ever since Vogue Paris gave her the boot. Success is definitely the sweetest revenge in this case. [Design Scene]

Zac was always ridiculous … But then he became a parody of himself. People around him have a head for business and try to rein him in, but he’s never had to work from the bottom up, and he’s too used to everyone flapping around him to notice that his name doesn’t mean what it used to.”

Galliano Found Guilty

- Guilty
John Galliano was found guilty of ”public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity” in a French court today. The designer got into deep shit when he was running around Paris going on and on about how much he loved Hitler and hated Jewish people.
Earlier he released a statement saying: “Antisemitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologize for my behavior in causing any offense.” Changed man? We’d like to hope so.
Galliano‘s potential sentence was a fine of over $30k but he was charged a suspended fine of over $8k today and that pretty much means it’ll go on his criminal record but he doesn’t really have to pay it. Um, yeah, we don’t get it either.

Rumor Squashed: Nope, No Galliano for Topshop!

Sorry Betches.
We all got excited at the prospect of Galliano and Topshop teaming up but the British retailers took to Twitter to imply that it was all BS by saying: “It’s incredible how rumors get started!” Later Sir Philip Green (Topshop owner) explained to Vogue, “I saw John Galliano at Kate’s wedding last Friday. I did not discuss any business with him then, nor have I since.”
Then Galliano’s people decided to spoil any remnants of hope when they said, “His only focus for the foreseeable future is concentrating on his rehab. There is no truth in this rumour.”
Well, damn.

Galliano Finds a Replacement

John Galliano Resort 2012
Nope! He hasn’t been replaced at Dior just yet but it has been revealed that John Galliano has named Bill Gaytten to take over the creative director position at his John Galliano label.
“It’s the same job for me; I’ve been doing it for a long time,” Gaytten tells WWD. “[ The menswear show] was a bit different because John wasn’t there. I’m dying to know what he thinks!”
Bill, I’m pretty sure he’s going to love the collection considering everybody on the runway looked exactly like him.

Ricardo Tisci Puts Galliano Succession Rumors to Bed

Not me guys. Sorry.
We can go on and on about how we think Ricardo Tisci will leave Givenchy to replace John Galliano but it basically ain’t gonna happen.
The designer tells Interview Magazine:
“Sincerely, I feel sorry for John. But for this moment I am leaving aside all the gossip of ‘I am going here, I am going there,’ because there is a lot of gossip circulating and there always will be. I will tell you, in this moment, I am very happy at Givenchy and it is a moment in which I am bringing the game to the next level. So I tell you, I feel at home. It’s as if it were my son … For now, it is still Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, and I think that it will be for a long time, because it will be difficult to evict me from my house.”
There you have it. Ricardo isn’t going anywhere and we’re ecstatic. Now who’s the next designer due for a Dior rumor?
Fresh Out of Rehab: Galliano Spotted at LAX, Gets Called a “F**king Racist”

La fête est terminée
John Galliano was seen in Los Angeles yesterday leaving LAX airport assumingly arriving from the rehab facility he was checked into for about a month in Arizona. Galliano kept silent as a reporter asked him “Would you have done anything differently if you were on the Christian Dior board?” and even kept his mouth shut when another called him a f**king racist.

Gwen Stefani Talks L.A.M.B., Her ‘Daily Struggle’ to Stay Thin and John Galliano in Elle UK

The gorgeous Gwen Stefani landed the April cover of Elle UK and in it she talks about her fashion line, staying thin and her relationship with fallen Dior designer, John Galliano.
On weight:
“I work out five days a week, I can’t imagine not doing it. I’d like to have no rules and eat what I want, but I’ve learned over the years that I’m so disappointed when I can’t wear the clothes I want to wear. And if I let myself down, appear on stage when I’m not looking my best, it’s not fun for me. I just beat myself up about it.”

Courtesy Elle
On her fashion career:
“I’m not even close to being where I want it to be yet. [Fashion] is very, very hard to do well, but I’m learning. I’m getting to the point where the last collection we did was a disaster until two weeks before – I had to fly to Montreal and review the whole collection – and it ended up being one of the most cohesive collections we’d ever done.”
On John Galliano and her wedding dress:
“When I got engaged and someone told me that John said he would make my dress, I was like really? I said I wanted it to be over the top, but not traditional – I wanted it to be everything. But how do you tell this genius over the phone? He was, like, OK, and sent me these drawings of this unbelievable, perfect dress. It’s going into the V&A now. I didn’t wanna send it because I was scared it would get ruined. But it’s a work of art, it needed to be seen.”
