Lagerfeld Rolls Out Glassware Collection

Karl Lagerfeld designed a glassware collection for Swedish company, Orrefors.

These sleek pimp cups come in a couple shades and are branded with a KL monogram.

I totally want these but I don’t have a cool place of my own where I can have cool dinner parties and shit.

Quote Du Jour: Karl Lagerfeld- Hey Biographers! ‘F*ck you, you’re all lazy pigs.’

Not down.

“I don’t have too much consideration for the poor people who try to write that book [his biography] … But it’s interesting that people in fact are lazy. If they worked hard they would find interesting things. Nobody finds it! So I’m in a position to say ‘Fuck you, you’re all lazy pigs.’ And I certainly won’t help them!”

Another Badass Interview with Karl Lagerfeld via W Magazine

Karl Lagerfeld sat down to talk to W Magazine and here are the best quotes from the interview:

You’re a busy man.
I’m always busy. You know, the more I do, the more ideas I have—that’s the funny thing. The brain is a muscle, and I’m a kind of body-builder.

Do you ever take vacations?
I’m not an employee who goes to the office every morning at the same time. Then, vacations are needed. I’m like a rock singer with one-night stands on the road. I’m here for two days in New York; I leave in the morning early. I come back for Anna Wintour’s party at the Met, then again at the end of May for a prize I get from the Gordon Parks Foundation. I’m lucky that I can do all these things in the best conditions. I don’t have to struggle for that. I don’t have to discuss budgets. I don’t do meetings. At Chanel, there are no meetings. At Chanel, we do what we want, whenever we want and it works. And Fendi is the same.

Do you do it [his hair] yourself?
No, I have someone who comes to the house and washes it, puts in the dry shampoo, and takes care if it because I have no time. I don’t even have time to go to the dentist. I’m busy but in a pleasant way. I’m the one who wanted to do all of it, so I can’t complain.

What are your thoughts on Dior? Who should take over?
Well I’m not a consultant there, but I think Riccardo Tisci would be good, and then Haider Ackermann at Givenchy—not because they are friends of mine, but because they are good.

You seem to have a love/hate relationship with technology. You have hundreds of iPods but you don’t use a computer. You correspond by fax.
There are people who only have a fax because of me.

When was the last time you cried?
I’m trying to think of the last time I had onions.

Um, yeah! For the rest of the interview visit W Magazine.

Karl Lagerfeld to Release Fragrance That Smells Like a Book

K-Lag in a section of his massive library. Image via Vice Magazine

We know K-Lag loves his books considering he happens to own over 300,000 of them and low-key owns a bookstore and publishing house in Paris by the name of  7L and even has plans to open another in New York. Well, now it’s no surprise that Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with the publishing company Steidl to create a perfume that will smell like books by the name of Paper Passion.

Karl actually isn’t the first one who tried to recreate a scent inspired by the scent of books; Zadig et Voltaire also released one calledTome 1 La Pureté. Now what makes Paper Passion cooler? The packaging. The scent is said to be encased within a hollowed out hard-cover book named Paper Passion as well.

I mean, yeah the smell of books brings upon the nostalgic memories but nowadays the scent simply reminds me of how creepy some Los Angeles Public Libraries are. I mean, they were the spot when I was kid and recently I ventured over to one for fun, checked out books, got creeped out, left and never wanted to go back to that to that place so that left me with a stack of overdue stuff and letters from collection agencies months later but that’s all sorted out now.

So yeah, IDK  if I’ll be all over this book smell, which almost kinds of smell like the Goodwill now that I think of it, on my body. In books, yeah cool, drenched all over me, probably not. Not going to lie, I probably will still buy it and put the pretty book on my dresser.

Blake Lively is Gonna Let Pros Like Karl Lagerfeld Do Fashion Design

I'm just gonna chill here, you know, in the front row.

For everyone sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting for Blake Lively to announce a fashion line like every other celebrity, don’t hold your breath.

“I’ve been asked about that,” Blake tells WWD, “but I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that, if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?”

Finally, a famous person who gets it.

Karl Lagerfeld on Galliano: “I’m furious, if you want to know. I’m furious that it could happen, because the question is no longer even whether he really said it. The image has gone around the world. It’s a horrible image for fashion, because they think that every designer and everything in fashion is like this. This is what makes me crazy in that story. The thing is, we are a business world where, especially today, with the Internet, one has to be more careful than ever, especially if you are a publicly known person. You cannot go in the street and be drunk — there are things you cannot do… I’m furious with him because of the harm he did to LVMH and [chairman and ceo] Bernard Arnault, who is a friend, and who supported him more than he supported any other designer in his group, because Dior is his favorite label. It’s as if he had his child hurt.” [WWD]

Kate Middleton Wedding Dress Sketches: Karl Lagerfeld, Missoni, Rachel Roy

Karl Lagerfeld

K-Lag wants Kate Middleton to sport an open front Victorian dress with high boots. Imagine Karl Lagerfeld walking her down the isle, rolling deep with a posse consisting of Blake Lively and all his little man toys in Victorian outfits. Ah, one can only dream for such ridiculousness.

Missoni

Kate Middleton getting married in Missoni? Can you picture it? So long as the reception is decked out with decorative pieces donning the fashion house’s signature zig-zag print. Again, dreaming.

Rachel Roy

Love Rachel Roy and what she does with floor-length gowns. Surprised more celebrities haven’t enlisted her to create their bridal looks.
