Battle of the Shoes: Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Rachel McAdams in Lanvin
Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted at the premiere of Country Song in Tennessee wearing a pair of heels from Lanvin’s Spring Collection. Now you may remember these shoes as the ones Alber Elbaz’s models had a hard time walking in and celebrities are no different: “I’m in pain. I feel like I’m in a torture vice”, Paltrow said of the pumps to People. A day before, Rachel McAdams wore the same shoes to the premiere of her movie Morning Glory in NYC. Gwyneth paired the shoes with a mini-dress by Chado Ralph Rucci while Rachel went with one also by Lanvin. Now who do you think wore these shoes better?

Première Look: The first Photo of Lanvin for H&M Released!

Vogue.com had the exclusive first photo of Lanvin’s collection for H&M this morning and we of course had to share.
Even though we won’t get to see the rest of the looks until November 2nd, this should satisfy our thirst in the mean time. With the release of this single image we know the clothes are totally worth going cray over.
Dress on the left, I totally recognize you from Pre-Fall ’09 Lanvin and the one on the right from Spring ’09.
Leave it to Alber Elbaz to channel his earlier high-end designs into his hybrid collection for H&M. Gorgeous!

Alber Elbaz: Lanvin's Designer
Alber Elbaz uttered the words we all waited to hear this week in a press release that surfaced yesterday: “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”
AEFIJIWWF. AWEIFJOWEIF!!!! The video we posted earlier had the whole fashion media world confused about who the man behind the silhouette was but the second we heard his voice we knew it was Alber!
“It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men”, said H&M creative director, Margareta van den Bosch.
Sounds effing dope. We will get a peek at the collection on November 2nd. Ah!

Exact details haven’t been released yet but H&M is hooking up with what appears to be Lanvin, Carolina Hererra and Bottega Veneta. All we know is the Swedish retailers have released a slew of videos featuring silhouettes of people who resemble fashion designers paired with voice overs. We shall find out on the 9th of this month! P.S. The man’s voice is indeed that of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, just listen to it! I’m having heart palpitations. Great.
