Louis Vuitton
A veritable celebration of women and their curves was on display at Louis Vuitton, courtesy of Marc Jacobs. The full mid-length skirts and wasp waisted corsets were given a youthful, Parisian twist, with barely-there make up and full, blown-out ponytails. Boxy, structured bags and court shoes adorned with bows completed the look, as modelled by some of the classic supermodels, who prove decades later, they’ve still got it, and are more than willing to flaunt it.
Burberry
For Autumn/Winter 2010 the coat has established itself as a worthy investment piece, and nowhere was this more apparent than at the Burberry Prorsum show. Christopher Bailey offered up variations on the military coat, as well as single handedly triggering this season’s frenzy for sheepskin aviator jackets. Combining the masculine cuts with feminine lace dresses, pencil skirts and jewel coloured ruching, and topped off with a pair of thigh high leather boots, the looks were all about balancing hard and soft elements for a new take on the military trend.

Celine
A masterclass in minimalism, Phoebe Philo once again provided a collection of chic, classic designs which topped every fashion editors new season wish list. Comprised of exquisitely cut coats, mid-length skirts and ankle length trousers, the beauty of the collection was in its simplicity. The mainly monochromatic palette, showcased a selection of feminine, wearable separates, which were easily styled with a pair of opaques and leather riding boots. The lack of showmanship allowed the clothes to speak for themselves, proving that purism can be far from boring.
