Manolo Blahnik Needs to Calm Down with this Platform Hate Talk [VIDEO]

Ugh, platforms are the bane of my existence.

So remember earlier this year when some publication asked Manolo Blahnik what trend he was excited to see go and he revealed his distaste for platform shoes? Well, he isn’t over that sh*t.

In a this video for the documentary we mentioned earlier, God Save My Shoes, Manolo bitches about platforms or furniture shoes (haha, brilliant phrase) as he likes to call them, again.

Why? Maybe because he doesn’t make platforms and in turn this might have taken a toll on his income? Who knows? Has he ever tried to walk in a pair of his own stilettos? If so, he would understand why we are obsessed with platforms. Just embrace them Manolo, embrace them.

Manolo Blahnik Isn’t Down With Platforms in 2011

No platforms for you bitches!

Manolo Blahnik revealed what he thinks is in store for this year to WWD and it’s not looking good for platform heels.

Manolo Blahnik
Dos and Don’ts:
“Do: Follow your own style and aesthetic. Don’t: Wear platforms.”
Wish for 2011: “To keep doing what I am doing the best that I can.”
Looking forward to … “Being in my bed reading.”
Top trend: “It’s up to you. It’s for you to decide.”
2011 muse: “Always and forever — Charlotte Rampling.”

Um, yeah, sorry Manolo, once you realize platforms are like heaven for feet it’s kinda impossible to go back to the hell that is thinly-soled pumps. We’ll try, but won’t guarantee ish.

Quote Du Jour: Manolo Blahnik Thinks He Saves Marriages

Manolo Blahnik

“The male reaction to heels is half normal and half perversion, but some men tell me I’ve saved their marriage. The first thing men look at are a woman’s legs, and there is nothing more flattering than high heels.”

-Manolo Blahnik brags.

*It’s probably safe to assume that the number of marriages that have ended over Manolo transactions on credit card statements are higher than the ones he’s saved.

Quote Du Jour: Manolo Blahnik is all IDK About Why We Buy His Shoes

Manolo Blahnik

“I don’t know why my shoes are so popular — I am always surprised and mystified by it. Perhaps it’s because they don’t have a set time period or aging look to them.”

Manolo Blahnik shoes are known for its beauty, but the new sketches for the autumn/winter 2010-11 collection are beyond amazing.

“It’s a whole new silhouette, I’ve never done anything like it before. Just makes the leg look so great, so sexy and so cute,” Blahnik told British Vogue as he unveiled the new “axio” heel.

The collection will include rabbit-lined heeled ankle boots, grey and black courts, and of course the famous Carrie Bradshaw wedding shoe, but this time a flat version in red or black.
